Britain’s national contemporary dance company returns to High Wycombe with its winning formula of imaginative, ambitious and high quality dance. This autumn, Rambert is delighted to present its exciting new work, Awakenings, at the Wycombe Swan. A collaboration between theatrical choreographer Aletta Collins and celebrated American composer Tobias Picker, this is the first dance interpretation of Oliver Sacks’ book of the same name, made famous by the 1990 Hollywood film starring Robin Williams and Robert De Niro. Awakenings is a beautiful piece of dance full of high emotion, energy and drama.
Two further dance works, brand new to High Wycombe’s audiences, will also be performed, including the revival première of Cardoon Club, a witty work by German choreographer Henrietta Horn, and Siobhan Davies’ fast-moving and award-winning The Art of Touch.
With 22 of the world’s finest dancers and incredible live music from the Rambert Orchestra, the Company continues to be at the very heart of British dance.
'Strongly recommended for anyone who likes their dance cooked up hot, sharp and spicy.'
